gallery UG is pleased to announce its participation in "Intersect: Tokyo Art Currents", held at the Art Gallery within Tokyo Square Garden from June 6 (Fri) to August 1 (Fri), 2025.

gallery UG Tennoz is pleased to announce the upcoming solo exhibition "Into the Light," by Takayuki NIWA, on view from Friday, July 11 to Sunday, July 27, 2025.
This exhibition marks NIWA’s second solo presentation at our Tennoz space and commemorates his 14th year as an exclusive artist with gallery UG. Through his continued practice, Niwa has developed a distinct visual language that invites viewers into a quietly powerful world of imagination and introspection.
He has been using "ordinary people" as models to exaggerate human behavior through extreme facial expressions and movements. The "Clean Man" series, which he has been creating continuously in recent years, symbolizes the moment when a middle-aged man relaxes at home, free from the tension of the eyes of the world.
The word "karma" evokes images of karma, karmic greed, and various other negative Japanese words. However, the expression of anxiety, fear, anger, sorrow, and joy, along with hints of hope, and bold expression and lightness of figures, always sits together and makes us want to shout out in joy, even if we are a bit confused at the moment we see it.
We are pleased to announce that gallery UG Osaka Umeda will host a solo exhibition "Nowhere Garden" by Saori Hasegawa from Wednesday, July 9 to Tuesday, August 5.
Saori HASEGAWA has been working consistently on the theme of “Lost Landscapes”. In 2022, she participated in the "Blue Period" exhibition at the Terada Warehouse, followed by her participation in the group exhibition "Visualization" at galley UG Tennoz in 2023 and her solo exhibition "Botanical garden" at Bakurocho. In the past years, she has been exhibiting at numerous art fairs, expanding her activities beyond the borders of Japan.
In this exhibition, visitors can enjoy the novelty of standing in front of Saori HASEGAWA's Lost Landscapes, and let their consciousness be guided by their own memories and fantasies.

galleryUG are always there for our artists.
We will grow together with the artists and support them from production to promotion.
We aim to further enrich and expand the contemporary art scene by proposing the ideal way for galleries to be.
In moments when I feel like I’m in a place independent of my surroundings,
I sometimes feel like I’m in a different time and space.
The feeling is like clouds or smoke that change shape with no regard for time
that people have to live by, and it also feels like a space of my own.
To turn, various scenes that came up in my imagination from things I encountered.
To express freedom, time and desires that are on the verge of being discarded from memory.
That is what is important, in order for me to be me and for a person to be them self.
