GINZA TSUTAYA BOOKS

information

An exhibition of works by Junko Asano and Misako Maegaki, "Hare to Tsuki no Hi", will be held from 17 Feb (Sat) to 8 Mar (Thu) in front of the information counter on the 6th floor of Ginza Tsutaya.

Asano has mainly produced two-dimensional works and Maegaki three-dimensional works, but they were influenced by each other through their collaboration in past overseas group exhibitions, with Asano realising the interest of space created by three-dimensional objects and Maegaki feeling uncomfortable with two-dimensional objects.
The two artists have had a long relationship and are keenly interested in each other as fellow artists.
Although the two artists have had a long history of exchange and friendly rivalry, this is the first time they have held a two-person exhibition together.

Asano is currently based in Tokyo, while Maegaki works in Kitakyushu. This is an exhibition of works by two artists who value everyday life and draw inspiration from familiar objects. We hope you will enjoy the playful spirit and gentle flow of time that can be seen in the different landscapes where they spend their time.
