gallery UG Bakurocho is pleased to present "Pretending I'm Not Here" by Hitomi Oshima from July 26 (Mon) to July 31 (Sat), 2021.
After completing her Master's degree in Japanese Painting at Tama Art University in 2012, Oshima has been exhibiting her works at solo exhibitions and art fairs not only in Japan but also in Asia, Europe and the United States. This exhibition will be held at gallery UG after exhibiting her works in "UG Small Works Exhibition" and "TABLEAU Exhibition" held in 2018 and her solo exhibition "camouflage" in 2019. After "camouflage" in 2019, this will be her second solo exhibition.
In the past, Oshima has used reptiles, which change their appearance depending on external factors, as a motif to express the human mind. After the last exhibition, in this exhibition, Oshima develops the theme of reptiles further and expresses a more introspective complexity by combining multiple motifs into one object.
