UG ASSEMBLE (gallery UG), led by President Eiichiro Sasaki, will open a new store in Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin on Thursday, August 29, 2025. This marks the gallery’s first permanent location in the Kyushu region, following the successful opening of its Daimaru Umeda store in February 2024.

Since its founding in 1999, gallery UG has introduced a wide range of artists from Japan and abroad under the theme of “encounters between art and people.” Now in its 26th year of operation, the gallery continues its mission to present art rooted in the local community, with Fukuoka as its latest home.

Opening Exhibition Project: TRY, Try, TRI !

To commemorate the opening of its new location at Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin, gallery UG will present the exhibition “TRY, Try, Tri!” beginning August 29, 2025.

TRY—to take on something new.
Try—an effort to achieve something.
TRI—from Latin, meaning “three.”

This exhibition brings together three artists, each exploring distinct forms of expression.
Through their individual “TRIs,” you will witness three unique creative journeys.

Creating art means facing oneself—an ongoing process of challenges and perseverance.
In “Try, Try, Try!,” these personal trials intersect and resonate, giving rise to new artistic possibilities. Each small “try” accumulates, eventually unlocking something far greater.

We invite you to experience this bold new step by gallery UG Fukuoka, Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin Store, and NOX GALLERY—an initiative to energize the heart of Hakata through the power of art.
