gallery UG Tennoz is pleased to present Nami Okada│dimensions from July 23 (Fri) to August 8 (Sun), 2021.
After graduating from Tama Art University, Nami Okada will start her career as a gallery UG resident artist in 2019.
While increasing her opportunities to present her work in Japan, she also participated in art fairs in Taipei and New York last year.
Okada creates "One view" using places she has visited as a motif, and the relevance of "landscapes that do not yet have a meaning" as the axis of her works.
Even within the same landscape, several different images are created depending on each person's experiences, memories, and recollections. I believe that a landscape takes on "meaning" only when people's thoughts and feelings overlap.
By using layers of color to depict multiple layers of "image-laden landscapes," the artist evokes a sense of déjà vu and a timeless mental landscape for viewers with different experiences.
In this exhibition, "dimensions", Okada will present a new work that is 2m60cm in length. There will also be several large works (over 100cm).
